Attention Pre-Nursing Students:
This course is ideal for the student who did not have biology in high school or needs a good refresher course before entering Anatomy and Physiology. This is recommended over BIOL 114 for entrance into the OCC nursing program.

BIOL 119
Nature of Science and the Human Body4 credits (3 + 2)
A one semester laboratory course for non-science majors focused on the nature of Science as a field of inquiry. Emphasis is on the scientific method as a natural outcom of human curiosity. The human body acts as a vehicle to explore the unity of life. Critical thinking is stressed as preparation to fully enjoy a society shaped largely by Science and Technology. Current trends and/or news articles are incorporated for their topics and exploration of methods used to obtain conclusions.
