2008 DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of a crew or working independently
as directed by the supervisor, or designee, performs
work in the areas of lawn and garden maintenance,
planting, maintenance of parking lots, buildings
and grounds. Performs building custodial duties
as directed. Maintain, repair, clean, and
clear exterior areas such as walkways, ramps,
roadways and parking areas. Maintain, repair,
and clean, building interiors to include classrooms,
laboratories, offices, and rest rooms. Operate,
clean, and maintain equipment associated with
grounds and custodial duties. Maintain campus
grounds including sweeping, emptying trash containers,
and collecting recyclables. Inspect entire campus
on a daily basis in reference to job responsibilities.
Assist with set-ups, break downs, special events,
and furniture and/or equipment moves. Follow
oral and written instructions and work orders.
Transport supplies, materials, furniture and equipment
for delivery to campus and satellite offices and
classrooms; pick up and deliver a variety of equipment;
move and rearrange furniture. In the event of
emergency or unusual conditions including snow
removal, the Buildings/Grounds Worker I shall
respond in a timely manner to the supervisor's
direction to report for duty and assist in essential
tasks to restore or sustain regular college operations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required:
High school or GED. Possess and maintain a valid
New Jersey driver's license. Must be able
to read, write, speak, and understand the English
language. Two years verifiable experience
in the care and maintenance of building and grounds.
Ability to do extended periods of walking, stooping,
bending, or kneeling and to work under adverse
weather conditions. Ability to move equipment,
tools, and work related items weighing up to 40
lbs. Must pass college physical examination.
Must authorize a criminal background check if
considered for position
COMPENSATION: Transfers
to a position of a higher pay grade receive a
raise to the minimum wage/salary of the new position,
or receive a 3% to 5% increase, whichever is greater.
Transfers to a position of the same or
lower pay grade retain their current wage/salary.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management/Administrative
Operations: Ensure internal
course review requirements are met, including
accurate records in Datatel and back up hard copies
of course records; oversee record retention and
disposition, in accordance with the Department
of the State, Division of Archives and Records
Management. Responsible for coordination, supervision,
and evaluation of registration employees. Coordinate
department program schedules, including start,
schedule adjustments, room assignments, and/or
course cancellations in Datatel. Responsible for
the assignment of facilities on and off campus
and media services; schedule Continuing and Professional
Education facility usage; serve on the ‘Resource
25' committee. Be proficient in the various office
functional areas; keep operations manuals accurate
and updated, ensure back-up support by cross-training
staff; and be responsible for evaluating and streamlining
office processes. Work with the director
regarding the coordination and preparation of
reports and year-end statistical analysis.
Efficiently utilize student workers, volunteers
and agency sponsored workers to accomplish office
tasks. Verify student attendance and transcript
requests. Perform other duties as assigned.
Financial Accountability: Plan,
develop, and manage operational budgets for registration
area. Make special account adjustments
and unusual Accounts Receivable inquiries.
Verify refund amounts for approval by Director.
Responsible for the collection, processing, and
submission of all documentation regarding Uniform
Construction Code tuition reimbursement and related
reports to the Department of Community Affairs.
Track registration receivables and processing
of loans and other payment methods. Public Relations/Communications:
Demonstrate excellent communication
skills with team members, direct reports, colleagues,
students and the public. Technical:
Provide direct supervision over the
operation of all electronic data processing programs
and equipment for the department. Create documentation
of Datatel; train all office staff and provide
updates for new Datatel and registration office
processes; attend Datatel User Group (DUG) meetings;
attend DUG training and conferences as required.
Act as Liaison to Office of Information Technology
to communicate any problems or receive information
regarding office software upgrades, technical
issues, equipment problems and related policy
changes. Maintain appropriate competency in contemporary
computer technology.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
Minimum of three years of successful experience
in office administration which requires a high
degree of responsibility and accuracy. Knowledge
of and experience with computer technology and
current software packages including MS Office
(word, and excel) and Outlook. Ability to communicate
effectively, both orally and in written form.
Ability to make complex mathematical computations
accurately and compile general statistical analytical
reports. Three to five years related experience,
including the Supervision of staff. Ability to
relate and work effectively with others. Preferred:
Knowledge of Datatel. Master's in related field.
Two years relevant work experience in non-credit
education administration.
