The Workforce and Professional Education department at Ocean County College offers dedicated and driven students the opportunity to receive financial assistance through the H. Hovnanian Foundation School of Nursing and Health Sciences Grant. The grant can help pay for as much as half of the cost of some healthcare courses. Students enrolled in the following courses are encouraged to apply:
- Veterinary Assistant
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
- Dental Assisting
- Medical Billing and Coding Specialist
- Phlebotomy Technician
- Patient Care Technician
Scholarship Application Requirements
To be eligible for this award, students must meet the following requirements:
- Course Enrollment
Must be enrolled in one of the six courses listed above - Ocean County Resident
Must reside in Ocean County, New Jersey - Income Requirement
Household income must be an annual income of less than $100,000
How to Apply
- Enroll in the Course
- Visit the Workforce and Professional Education registration page
- Select Register and follow the instructions on the next page to enroll, or create an account and apply to Ocean County College if you’ve never attended before
- After you are registered, follow the instructions on how to make a payment
- IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE GRANT, YOU MUST HAVE EITHER:
- Paid tuition in full -OR-
- Created a payment plan and made the first payment towards your balance.
- 250-Word Essay
- Write a 250-word essay that describes why you feel you should be awarded the scholarship. Your essay should be clear, concise, and reflect your personal experiences and aspirations.
- WPE Grant Application Form
- Complete the Foundation Grant Application Form. This form provides us with essential information about you, your academic background, and your financial situation. Upload your 250-word essay within this form.
Important Dates
Applications must be submitted no later than 14 days prior to the start of the applicable course to be considered prior to the course start date. Scholarships applications submitted after this date may be considered, but decisions would take place after the refund date of the course.
