The Office of Disability Services provides individualized accommodations and support services for veteran and service member students with disabilities or who have access needs.
In order to receive accommodations from Disability Services, you must provide documentation of your disability from an appropriate professional. Oftentimes, a VA Benefit Letter will include disability-related information and status which we accept for review.
If you have trouble obtaining documentation from the Veterans Administration, Ocean County College is fortunate to have the presence of the Veteran & Military Resource Center (VMRC) on campus which is located in the Student Center (Bldg. 8) Room 211. The VMRC strategically aligns veteran and military-connected entities under one department to provide oversight, easing the transition to higher education and enhancing the overall student success of the Ocean County College military-affiliated community. This office houses staff who may be able to assist you in obtaining the appropriate paperwork for services.
The VMRC is also connected to a Veteran Service Officer (VSO) to assist veteran and military students and alumni in starting, completing, and adjusting their claims with the VA. The VSO will answer your questions and help you receive full benefits, including disability, education, and medical.
For general information about military /veterans connections at Ocean County College contact the VMRC at veterans@ocean.edu or visit them in person or online at https://www.ocean.edu/student-services/veteran-services/.
You’ve served our country, it’s now our time to help serve you! For more information, email accommodations@ocean.edu or call 732-255-0456.

- Project Good to Go (PG2G), established in 2017, is an interdisciplinary team of educators from diverse specialty areas. PG2G collaborated directly with student veterans to better understand their classroom and campus experiences, particularly regarding the impact of service-connected hearing loss and tinnitus. Through this research, PG2G developed the “Top Ten Things Student Veterans Would Like Faculty to Know” handout and a related professional development program.
